DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RETURN HOME FOR EID. Despite the Eid holiday, there is no ceasefire and no safe corridor to south Lebanon, Nabatieh, Bekaa, Baalbek-Hermel, or Dahiyeh. The Al-Qasimiya Bridge is cut off. Litani bridges destroyed. Ground combat ongoing.

SOUTH LEBANON: Active war zone with three IDF divisions. Hezbollah ambushes ongoing. Hospital struck today. Do not enter under any circumstances.

NABATIEH: Active multi-district ground combat. Hospital struck. UNIFIL confirmed Israeli military entry in multiple towns. Do not enter.

BEKAA VALLEY: Bridges destroyed; airstrike on Janta bridge today; Baalbek area struck. Evacuate westward immediately if still present.

BEIRUT (DAHIYEH): Active strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure continue. Do not return.

CENTRAL BEIRUT: Diplomatic activity today (French FM visiting) but Raouche and Aicha Bakkar were struck in prior days. Maintain emergency plan.

The war has reached a brutal milestone today — 1,000 Lebanese killed — while simultaneously seeing the most intense ground combat yet (6 Merkava tanks destroyed in one ambush) and the most active diplomatic engagement since the war began (French FM in Beirut; Aoun initiative; Karam delegation forming). Lebanon is living the paradox of its wars: diplomacy and destruction accelerating simultaneously.

The three scenarios — limited operation, prolonged guerrilla war, civil war — are all active simultaneously in different parts of the country. Israel is grinding forward in the south. Hezbollah is fighting back effectively. The government is pursuing diplomacy while Hezbollah calls it “concessions for free.” The army refuses to fight Hezbollah directly. The US says it’s not ready for a deal. France is doubling aid and calling for a ceasefire. Iran keeps firing. Oil stays above $100. Qatar’s LNG is cut by 17%.

Lebanon did not choose this war. Its people deserve to observe Eid in their homes. They will spend it in shelters instead.
