⛔ ACTIVE WAR — DAY 42 | US-IRAN CEASEFIRE ANNOUNCED BUT LEBANON EXCLUDED | “BLACK WEDNESDAY” AFTERMATH
INDEX LEVEL: 🔴🔴 CATASTROPHIC OVERALL INDEX: 99/100 TREND: ⬆️ MAXIMUM — WAR IN LEBANON INTENSIFYING DESPITE IRAN CEASEFIRE; ISLAMABAD TALKS TODAY; DIRECT ISRAEL-LEBANON NEGOTIATIONS NEXT WEEK
⛔ EXECUTIVE SUMMARY — FRIDAY APRIL 10, 2026
Since the April 7 edition, the war has been transformed — but Lebanon remains in the eye of the storm.
WHAT HAPPENED IN 72 HOURS (APRIL 7-10):
April 7 (Tuesday): Trump’s 8 PM ET deadline passed. The US struck Kharg Island military targets. Iran did not reopen Hormuz. No power plants were destroyed. Late Tuesday night, the US and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire — announced on April 7. Israel agreed to the ceasefire initially. Hezbollah signalled it would pause attacks.
April 8 (“BLACK WEDNESDAY”): Less than 24 hours after the ceasefire was announced, Israel launched “Operation Eternal Darkness” — its most devastating single attack on Lebanon since the war began. In 10 minutes, the IDF struck 100 targets simultaneously across Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon — killing at least 303 people and wounding 1,150+.
Lebanon called it “Black Wednesday” and declared a national day of mourning. PM Salam declared Thursday a public holiday. No evacuation warnings were issued. Hospitals in Beirut were flooded with casualties. Lebanon’s Civil Defence described “double-tap strikes” targeting rescue teams. President Aoun called it a “massacre.” The Belgian Foreign Minister was in Beirut congratulating President Aoun on his willingness to negotiate with Israel when the bombs fell.
April 8-9: Netanyahu admitted: Israel hit over 100 targets in 10 minutes “in places Hezbollah was certain were immune.” He said: “Today we dealt Hezbollah the greatest blow it has suffered since the pagers.” Hezbollah resumed attacks. Iran threatened to destroy the ceasefire if Lebanon attacks continued. CBS News: Trump initially agreed Lebanon was included in the ceasefire. After a phone call with Netanyahu, Trump reversed this position and said Lebanon was not covered. Pakistan, France, UK, Russia, Turkey, Canada all say Lebanon IS covered by the ceasefire. The US and Israel say it is not.
April 9: The IDF’s 98th Division (elite paratroopers and commandos, deployed April 7) almost fully took control of Bint Jbeil — the war’s primary ground combat site. IDF Chief of Staff Zamir visited commanders near Bint Jbeil and said the IDF is in a “state of war” in Lebanon despite the Iran ceasefire. Netanyahu ordered direct negotiations with Lebanon — “talks under fire.” Lebanon refused without a ceasefire first.
April 10 (today): 13 Lebanese State Security personnel killed in an IDF strike on a State Security office in Nabatieh. The IDF launched a wave of strikes across Lebanon early this morning killing at least 28 people including the 13 security forces. The Iranian delegation (led by parliament speaker Ghalibaf and FM Araghchi) arrived in Islamabad for tomorrow’s US-Iran talks. Ghalibaf warns: “time is running out” amid continuing attacks on Lebanon. Lebanon is still being actively bombed. The ceasefire is on the verge of collapse.
CURRENT STATUS:
- 1,953 people killed in Lebanon (as of April 10 — Wikipedia 2026 Lebanon War)
- 6,303 wounded
- 1.2 million+ displaced — war continues at full intensity
- Lebanon is IDF’s “primary operational focus” per IDF Chief Zamir
- Six IDF divisions inside Lebanon (36th, 91st, 98th, 146th, 162nd + 210th)

🚨 BREAKING DEVELOPMENTS — FRIDAY APRIL 10, 2026
🔴 #1 — “BLACK WEDNESDAY” APRIL 8: 303 KILLED, 1,150 WOUNDED — WORST SINGLE DAY OF THE WAR
[Wikipedia “April 8 2026 Lebanon attacks”; Democracy Now — today; Al Jazeera; NBC; CNN — all confirmed]
On April 8, less than 24 hours after the US-Iran ceasefire was announced, Israel launched “Operation Eternal Darkness” — the deadliest single day of the Lebanon war. In 10 minutes, the IDF struck approximately 100 targets simultaneously across Lebanon — central Beirut, Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon — without the customary advance evacuation warnings given to civilians.
The toll: At least 303 killed and 1,150+ wounded in a single day. Lebanon’s civil defence described “double-tap strikes” — a second strike targeting rescue teams at the site of the first. President Aoun called it a “massacre.” The Belgian Foreign Minister was inside the Beirut building meeting President Aoun — who was about to announce direct negotiations with Israel — when the bombs fell. He emerged to condemn the attack, stating: “Israel launched, with no previous warning, one of the most massive strikes since the beginning of the hostilities, allegedly causing hundreds of civilian victims. We were at the embassy with my delegation, just a few hundred meters from where the missiles struck. This must stop.”
Lebanese journalist Rania Abouzeid from Beirut (Democracy Now): “It was 10 minutes of terror, a day that the Lebanese are calling Black Wednesday. It was hard to tell what was blowing up where, because those hundred or so attacks were all happening simultaneously.”
Netanyahu later boasted: “Today we dealt Hezbollah the greatest blow it has suffered since the pagers. We attacked 100 targets in 10 minutes in places Hezbollah was certain were immune.”
🔴 #2 — 13 LEBANESE STATE SECURITY PERSONNEL KILLED IN NABATIEH TODAY — GOVERNMENT OFFICE STRUCK
[CNN — 1 hour ago; Wikipedia 2026 Lebanon War — 2 hours ago; Washington Post — confirmed; NBC — confirmed]
This morning, Israeli strikes killed at least 13 members of Lebanon’s State Security forces in a direct strike on a State Security office in Nabatieh. In total, at least 28 people were killed in the early morning April 10 strikes across Lebanon. President Aoun and PM Salam extended condolences. Salam: “This tragic loss only strengthens our resolve to achieve a ceasefire that will protect Lebanon and our people in the South.”
Striking the State Security office — a Lebanese government facility, staffed by Lebanese government personnel — is a profound escalation. The Lebanese State Security is a civilian intelligence and protective service, not a military organisation. Thirteen of its personnel were killed in their own office. This comes after an earlier LAF soldier killed at Ameriyeh checkpoint and another at Kafr Hatta. The Lebanese state is now directly suffering casualties from Israeli strikes at government premises.
🔴 #3 — 1,953 KILLED IN LEBANON; 6,303 WOUNDED — TOTAL WAR FIGURES UPDATED
[Wikipedia 2026 Lebanon War — updated 2 hours ago]
As of April 10, the total Lebanon war figures: 1,953 people killed and 6,303 wounded by Israeli strikes since March 2. The jump from 1,530 (April 7) to 1,953 (April 10) — +423 in three days — includes Black Wednesday’s 303, the April 9 continued bombardment, and today’s strikes. This is now the deadliest three-day period of the entire war. Hezbollah sources say over 400 Hezbollah fighters have been killed; IDF claims over 1,400 fighters killed. IDF’s “primary operational focus” is now Lebanon, confirmed by IDF Chief Zamir.
🔴 #4 — US-IRAN TWO-WEEK CEASEFIRE (ANNOUNCED APRIL 7) — BUT LEBANON IS NOT INCLUDED (US POSITION)
[NBC — confirmed; Wikipedia April 8 2026 Lebanon attacks; CNN; Pakistan FM]
A two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran was announced on April 7 — the first ceasefire of the conflict since it began February 28. Key points:
- Pakistan mediated — FM Dar and PM Sharif confirmed
- Pakistan says Lebanon IS included in the ceasefire
- US and Israel say Lebanon is NOT included
- Iran, France, UK, Russia, Turkey, Canada say Lebanon IS included
- Trump initially agreed Lebanon was included — then reversed after a phone call with Netanyahu (CBS News diplomats confirmed this)
- CNN: After a “tense” call, Netanyahu feared Trump would declare a Lebanon truce, so Netanyahu announced truce negotiations with Lebanon — which satisfied Trump enough not to declare one
The Strait of Hormuz: Only 4-5 ships transiting per day vs. 110-160 pre-war. Brent crude at $96/barrel (+40% from pre-war). Iran has announced “alternative routes” for ships but has not formally reopened the strait. Trump warned Iran not to charge tolls for ships. The ceasefire is fragile — and Lebanon attacks are its biggest threat.
🔴 #5 — ISLAMABAD TALKS TODAY/SATURDAY — IRANIAN DELEGATION HAS ARRIVED — MAKE-OR-BREAK MOMENT
[Al Jazeera — 22 minutes ago; NBC — 33 minutes ago; AP confirmed]
The Iranian delegation, led by parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad today. VP JD Vance is leading the US side. Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif called the talks a “make-or-break moment” for achieving a permanent ceasefire. Ghalibaf warned from Islamabad: “Time is running out” amid continuing attacks on Lebanon.
The talks are scheduled to begin Saturday. Key agenda:
- Formalising the ceasefire framework
- Strait of Hormuz reopening conditions
- Lebanon — Pakistan will argue Lebanon must be included
- Nuclear programme (Iran’s position: civilian; US position: dismantle)
- Sanctions and reparations
A key new sticking point: Lebanon. If Saturday’s talks cannot resolve whether Lebanon is included in the ceasefire framework, Iran has threatened to withdraw from the entire deal.
🔴 #6 — NETANYAHU ORDERS DIRECT LEBANON TALKS — “NEXT WEEK AT US STATE DEPARTMENT IN WASHINGTON”
[Axios — confirmed; NBC — confirmed; Al Jazeera — confirmed]
Netanyahu on Thursday said: “In light of Lebanon’s repeated requests to open direct negotiations with Israel, I instructed the cabinet yesterday to start direct negotiations with Lebanon as soon as possible.” The talks will focus on disarming Hezbollah and establishing peaceful relations between Israel and Lebanon.
Logistics confirmed by Axios: First meeting next week at the US State Department in Washington. US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa will lead the US negotiating team. Lebanon’s ambassador to Washington Nada Hamadeh-Moawad will head the Lebanese delegation.
Lebanon’s position: A Lebanese government official told AFP that Beirut requires a ceasefire before starting negotiations with Israel. Lebanese official source to Al Jazeera: “There will be no talks before a ceasefire is secured.” President Aoun stressed: “The only solution is a ceasefire with Israel that would lead to direct negotiations.”
Hezbollah’s position: Hezbollah lawmaker Ali Fayyad stated Hezbollah rejects direct negotiations with Israel and the government should demand a ceasefire as a precondition. Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem called on the government to “stop giving free concessions” to Israel.
The paradox: Lebanon wants talks — but only after a ceasefire. Israel wants talks — but is simultaneously bombing Lebanon while talking. Lebanon risks “jumping straight to negotiation step 4 without achieving steps 1-3” per journalist Rania Abouzeid.
🔴 #7 — SIX IDF DIVISIONS IN LEBANON; 98TH TAKES BINT JBEIL; “STATE OF WAR” DECLARED BY IDF CHIEF
[Wikipedia 2026 Lebanon War — 2 hours ago; FDD/Jerusalem Post — confirmed; IDF Zamir statement]
The 98th Division (elite paratroopers and commandos) was deployed to south Lebanon on April 7. As of April 9, the 98th Division had “almost fully taken control of all of the town of Bint Jbeil” — the war’s principal ground battle site. IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited commanders near Bint Jbeil and stated explicitly: “The IDF is in a ‘state of war’ in Lebanon, despite the ceasefire with Iran.”
Per Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth: The IDF was preparing a plan to continue the operations and ground occupation in Lebanon even after the Iran war ends. Israel sees Lebanon as a separate and ongoing military theatre independent of the Iran ceasefire.
Six IDF divisions are now confirmed inside Lebanon: 36th, 91st, 98th, 146th, 162nd, and 210th (at Mount Dov). Finance Minister Smotrich reaffirmed Israel should annex territory up to the Litani River following the war.
🔴 #8 — TODAY’S CONFIRMED STRIKES — APRIL 10 — NABATIEH, BINT JBEIL, TYRE, DAHIYEH
[CNN — 1 hour ago; LiveUAMap — today; Al Jazeera — confirmed]
Today’s confirmed strikes in Lebanon, April 10:
Nabatieh Governorate:
- State Security office in Nabatieh — 13 security personnel killed (confirmed today)
- Dbeibine — new raid today
- Shokin and Mefdon outskirts — raid
- Bint Jbeil — heavy artillery shelling continues; 98th Division advancing
- Arab Salim — Israeli warplanes strike Haboush-Kafrjouz area
South Lebanon / Tyre:
- Al-Shahabiya — raid today
- Al-Rayhan — Israeli artillery shelling
- Qalila and Shahabiya (Tyre district) — Israeli airstrikes with casualties
Dahiyeh / Beirut:
- IDF continues strikes on Dahiyeh and southern Beirut suburbs
Al-Khayyam:
- Violent clashes erupted after Israeli forces attempted to infiltrate the western neighbourhood
Across south Lebanon: Israeli army launches wave of airstrikes against Hezbollah rocket launching sites — “shortly after warning that Hezbollah may fire rockets beyond northern Israel”
Hezbollah response: Rockets fired at Haifa, Nahariya, and Acre — IDF Home Front Command confirmed sirens sounded in all three cities.
🔴 #9 — HEZBOLLAH FIRES AT HAIFA, NAHARIYA, ACRE; CLAIMS ATTACK ON ASHDOD NAVAL BASE
[LiveUAMap — today; IDF confirmed; Washington Times — confirmed]
Hezbollah fired rockets toward Haifa, Nahariya, and Acre today — IDF Home Front Command activated sirens in all three cities. Hezbollah separately claimed an attack targeting a naval base in the Israeli port city of Ashdod — approximately 90 miles (145km) from the Lebanese border — the longest-range Hezbollah strike of the entire war if confirmed. The IDF has not confirmed the Ashdod claim. Hezbollah had initially signalled a pause in attacks after the April 7 ceasefire but fully resumed operations on April 8 following Black Wednesday.
🔴 #10 — IRAN DELEGATION WARNS: LEBANON COVERAGE IS NON-NEGOTIABLE; CEASEFIRE COULD COLLAPSE
[Al Jazeera — 22 min ago; NBC — 33 min ago; CNN — 1 hour ago; Bloomberg — 5 hours ago]
Iran’s parliament speaker Ghalibaf stated in Islamabad today: “Time is running out” and Lebanon is an “inseparable part of the ceasefire.” Iranian President Pezeshkian: “Our hands remain on the trigger. Iran will never forsake its Lebanese brothers and sisters.” Tasnim news agency (semi-official): Iran could withdraw from the truce if Israeli Lebanon attacks continue. Iranian FM Baghaei: “Halting the war in Lebanon is an inseparable part of the proposed ceasefire understanding put forward by Pakistan, and the US has committed to stopping the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.”
Bloomberg analysis published today: “After the US and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire on April 7, Israel actually escalated its campaign against the Iran-backed Hezbollah, including with strikes on central Beirut that came without the usual evacuation warning.”
The diplomatic impasse: If the Islamabad talks cannot produce agreement on Lebanon, Iran will declare the ceasefire violated and resume full hostilities against the US. The US military is still “in, and around, Iran” per Trump’s statement. B-1B bombers remain at European bases.
🔴 #11 — DOUBLE-TAP STRIKES ON RESCUE TEAMS; HOSPITALS OVERWHELMED; CIVIL DEFENCE CONDEMNS PATTERN
[CNN — today; Democracy Now — confirmed]
Lebanon’s Civil Defence told CNN that a “pattern of double-tap strikes has also been observed” — secondary strikes targeting rescue teams responding to the first strike. This tactic deliberately kills first responders and constitutes a war crime under international humanitarian law. Black Wednesday overwhelmed Beirut’s hospitals — “flooded by casualties” per all sources. Rescuers worked through the night on April 8-9 to try to save those trapped under rubble from strikes that hit populated areas without warnings. A Beirut resident: “This is my place, this is my house, I’ve been living here like more than 51 years. So, everything destroyed.”
Lebanon’s total healthcare worker toll — already at 51 killed as of March 28 — has risen further with additional strikes since Black Wednesday.
🔴 #12 — HORMUZ OPENING: ONLY 4 SHIPS/DAY vs. 130-160 PRE-WAR; EIA: $4.30/GALLON US GAS PEAK
[NBC — 33 min ago; CNN — confirmed; EIA confirmed]
Despite the ceasefire, the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed. As of today, only 4 ships transiting per day — the lowest level recorded since the ceasefire announcement. Before the war, 110-160 ships transited daily. One non-Iranian oil tanker crossed on Thursday — the MSG (Gabon-flagged) — the first since the ceasefire. Iran has announced “alternative routes” citing sea mine risks but has not formally reopened the strait.
Brent crude stands at $96.42/barrel today — down from the $116 peak but still +40% from pre-war levels. US Energy Information Administration forecasts US gas prices peaking at $4.30/gallon this month. Gulf Arab states collectively shut in 9.1 million barrels/day in April. The EIA assumed the war would not last past April and Hormuz would “gradually resume” — both assumptions are now in serious doubt.
🌡️ GOVERNORATE SECURITY INDEX — APRIL 10, 2026
🏙️ BEIRUT
Index: 98/100 🔴🔴 | Trend: MAXIMUM — Black Wednesday aftermath; Hezbollah protests; direct talks imminent
Beirut on April 10 is processing the trauma of Black Wednesday while still under active bombardment. Bodies are still being recovered from rubble. Families are identifying relatives at hospitals. The city is in shock — not just from the scale of the April 8 strikes but from the deliberate targeting of areas “Hezbollah was certain were immune” per Netanyahu’s own admission.
Politically, Beirut is divided. Hezbollah supporters protested outside PM Salam’s office, carrying portraits of slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, calling direct talks with Israel a “surrender.” One protester: “Our blood has been spilled on this land, and our state is conspiring against us. Our state wants to kill us; our state wants to strip us of our weapons.”
The direct talks at the US State Department next week — if they proceed — will place Lebanon in its most consequential negotiating position since the 1989 Taif Accords. The agenda: Hezbollah disarmament and “peaceful relations with Israel.” Lebanon’s entire post-war political order hangs on the outcome.
🏞️ MOUNT LEBANON
Index: 90/100 🔴🔴 | Trend: ESCALATING — Black Wednesday hit Mount Lebanon communities
Black Wednesday struck Mount Lebanon communities without warning. The Ain Saadeh strike was followed by additional strikes in Mount Lebanon-adjacent areas of Beirut. Displaced families from south Lebanon continue to shelter across Mount Lebanon. Sectarian tensions — documented by CNN and Al Jazeera — are intensifying as host communities struggle with the burden of 1.2 million displaced persons. Hezbollah supporters demonstrating in Beirut signal that intra-Lebanese tensions are approaching a dangerous level.
🌊 NORTH LEBANON & TRIPOLI
Index: 83/100 🔴 | Trend: Elevated
North Lebanon continues as the primary displacement terminus. No direct strikes today. However, Hezbollah’s rocket range now confirmed to reach Ashdod (if the naval base claim is verified) suggests that if Israel retaliates massively, north Lebanon’s proximity to Hezbollah rocket launching infrastructure makes it vulnerable to collateral IDF responses.
🌲 AKKAR
Index: 86/100 🔴 | Trend: Elevated
Masnaa crossing remains open — US/Egypt diplomacy holding. If Saturday’s Islamabad talks collapse and the Iran ceasefire breaks down, Masnaa’s viability becomes critical again.
🍇 BEQAA VALLEY
Index: 98/100 🔴🔴 | Trend: MAXIMUM — Black Wednesday struck Bekaa; attacks continue
Black Wednesday (April 8) struck the Bekaa Valley — it was one of the three theatres of the 100-target simultaneous assault. The Bekaa has now been struck in multiple consecutive weeks: Labaya (March 28), Mashghara (April 6), Sahmar (April 7), and the April 8 Black Wednesday Bekaa strikes. With six IDF divisions in south Lebanon and the IDF Chief declaring a “state of war” in Lebanon regardless of the Iran ceasefire, Bekaa operations will continue.
IF YOU ARE IN THE BEKAA: LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.
🕌 BAALBEK-HERMEL
Index: 99/100 🔴🔴 | Trend: Maximum
Baalbek-Hermel has been struck repeatedly including during Black Wednesday. With the Iran ceasefire not applying to Lebanon and IDF operations declared continuing indefinitely, Baalbek-Hermel remains at maximum danger.
🏛️ KESERWAN-JBEIL
Index: 82/100 🔴 | Trend: Elevated — Black Wednesday proximity
Black Wednesday struck without warning in areas near Keserwan. No direct strikes today but risk level elevated. Know your shelter.
🌴 SOUTH LEBANON
Index: 99/100 🔴🔴 | Status: TOTAL ACTIVE WAR — SIX DIVISIONS; BINT JBEIL 98% CONTROLLED BY IDF
South Lebanon today is the most active ground combat zone in the world. The 98th Division (elite paratroopers, deployed April 7) has nearly fully seized Bint Jbeil — the war’s primary urban battle. Six IDF divisions are operating across the full south. IDF strikes today hit Dbeibine, Shahabiya, Qalila, Shokin, Mefdon, Arab Salim, Al-Shahabiya. Al-Khayyam saw violent clashes after an IDF infiltration attempt. Heavy artillery shelling continues targeting Bint Jbeil city.
South Lebanon is a total occupation and demolition zone. There is nothing and no one safe south of the Zahrani River.
⛪ NABATIEH
Index: 99/100 🔴🔴 | Status: Active Combat + Government Offices Struck — 13 State Security Killed Today
The most devastating single development of today: 13 Lebanese State Security personnel killed in an IDF strike on their own office in Nabatieh. This is the single largest killing of Lebanese government security personnel in a single strike since the war began. Active combat in Bint Jbeil, Dbeibine, Shokin. IDF artillery targeting Bint Jbeil city. Al-Khayyam clashes today.
The entirety of Nabatieh Governorate remains an active war zone. Lebanese government personnel are being killed in their offices. No location is safe.

🎯 CRITICAL INTELLIGENCE BRIEF — APRIL 10, 2026
⚠️ FOUR KEY QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND
1. WILL SATURDAY’S ISLAMABAD TALKS RESOLVE THE LEBANON QUESTION? Ghalibaf and Araghchi arrived in Islamabad today. Vance is leading the US team. Pakistan PM calls it “make-or-break.” Lebanon is the central sticking point — Iran says Lebanon must be included; US/Israel say it is not. A resolution that includes Lebanon in the ceasefire framework could pause the ground war. A failure could produce a full ceasefire collapse and resume of maximum hostilities. Assessment: The talks are the most important diplomatic event of the war so far. Their outcome this weekend will determine whether Lebanon gets a respite or faces continued maximum bombardment.
2. WILL DIRECT ISRAEL-LEBANON TALKS BEGIN NEXT WEEK IN WASHINGTON? The US State Department meeting is confirmed for next week. Lebanon’s ambassador Hamadeh-Moawad will lead the Lebanese side; Michel Issa the US side. But Lebanon has publicly stated it will not negotiate without a ceasefire first. Israel is publicly stating talks are “under fire” with no ceasefire. Assessment: Talks may begin in Washington — but without a ceasefire, they will be diplomacy theatre. Lebanon will likely attend to demonstrate good faith, but will make no substantive concessions while being bombed.
3. CAN SIX IDF DIVISIONS HOLD BINT JBEIL AND EXPAND FURTHER? The 98th Division has nearly fully seized Bint Jbeil. But IDF operations in a town of this size — with Hezbollah fighters described as “several dozen, including Radwan Force operatives” — will face prolonged urban guerrilla warfare. IDF Chief Zamir is preparing plans for continued occupation even after the Iran war ends. Assessment: The IDF can hold Bint Jbeil but cannot do so without continued casualties. The occupation of south Lebanon is being designed to be indefinite — per Yedioth Ahronoth.
4. WILL THE US-IRAN CEASEFIRE SURVIVE ISRAEL’S LEBANON CAMPAIGN? Iran has threatened ceasefire withdrawal if Lebanon attacks continue. Black Wednesday was followed by continued strikes. 13 state security personnel killed today. Ghalibaf says “time is running out.” The ceasefire — only three days old — is already under maximum stress. Assessment: The ceasefire is highly fragile. Its survival depends entirely on whether Saturday’s Islamabad talks produce agreement on Lebanon’s status. If not, Iran will withdraw and the war resumes fully.
📱 EMERGENCY GUIDANCE — APRIL 10, 2026
🚨 TODAY’S MOST URGENT PRIORITIES:
SOUTH LEBANON: Active combat. 98th Division in Bint Jbeil. State Security office in Nabatieh struck. Al-Khayyam clashes. IDF artillery on Bint Jbeil city. Do not enter. Do not attempt return.
NABATIEH CITY AND GOVERNORATE: 13 government security personnel killed in their office today. The government building itself was struck. No government or civil facility in Nabatieh is safe from Israeli strikes.
DAHIYEH / SOUTH BEIRUT: Strikes continue. Evacuation order remains active. Do not return.
BEKAA VALLEY: Black Wednesday struck the Bekaa. Multiple subsequent strikes. Still active strike zone. Leave immediately.
ALL BEIRUT: Black Wednesday demonstrated that central Beirut can be struck without warning in 100-target simultaneous operations. Hezbollah protests outside PM office today. Maintain emergency shelter posture. Have 72-hour emergency supplies.
MASNAA CROSSING: Currently open. Monitor in real time — if Islamabad talks collapse this weekend, Masnaa becomes a target again.
ALL LEBANON — ISLAMABAD TALKS WEEKEND: The talks begin Saturday. If successful, there is a possibility of Lebanon being included in a ceasefire framework that could pause some strikes. If unsuccessful, expect escalation of Israeli operations in Lebanon from Sunday onward. Do not leave your shelter posture this weekend.
MENTAL HEALTH: Black Wednesday produced Lebanon’s most traumatic single day in years. If you are experiencing severe anxiety, depression, inability to function, or thoughts of self-harm, call the National Lifeline: 1564 — 24/7, confidential. You are not alone. Lebanon’s entire population is traumatised.

⚠️ FINAL ASSESSMENT — APRIL 10, 2026
Forty-two days of war. 1,953 Lebanese killed. 6,303 wounded. 1.2 million displaced. And the war is actually intensifying — not ending.
Black Wednesday (April 8) was the single most devastating day of the war — 303 killed in 10 minutes, without warning, the day after a ceasefire was announced. The ceasefire was meant to bring peace. Instead, Israel used the announcement to launch its “greatest blow to Hezbollah since the pagers.” Six elite IDF divisions are now inside Lebanon. Bint Jbeil has been seized. Thirteen government security officers were killed in their own office this morning.
And yet: Iran’s delegation arrived in Islamabad today. The talks begin Saturday. The Lebanese state is willing to negotiate directly with Israel for the first time since 1983. The US State Department is hosting the talks next week. For the first time since March 2, there is a possible diplomatic architecture that could eventually produce a Lebanon ceasefire.
Lebanon is simultaneously at its most militarily devastated and its closest to a diplomatic resolution in the entire 42 days of this war. Both things are true. Saturday’s Islamabad talks — and next week’s Washington negotiations — will determine which reality wins.
