🚨 BREAKING DEVELOPMENTS — THURSDAY MARCH 5, 2026
🔴 BREAKING #1 — ENTIRE DAHIYEH ORDERED EVACUATED: 400,000 PEOPLE — MASS EXODUS UNDERWAY
[Al Jazeera, Naharnet, Democracy Now — TODAY]
In the most sweeping single displacement order since the 2006 war, Israel today ordered the evacuation of the entirety of Beirut’s southern suburb belt — Dahiyeh — covering the neighbourhoods of Burj al-Barajneh, Hadath, Haret Hreik, Chiyah, and Shiyah. Israeli army Arabic spokesperson Ella Waweya issued the order at 14:44, telling residents they must “immediately flee their homes to save their lives.”
Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith, reporting live from Beirut, stated: “We’re talking about an area with some 400,000 people. I understand that the Israeli army has never before issued an evacuation order for this area.” He described the scene: “There’s been a lot of gunfire in the last 10 minutes — that is a warning by the forces in control here to tell people they need to evacuate. With the incessant noise of an Israeli drone overhead, this is bringing the fight much closer to the centre of Beirut.”
By 16:32, Naharnet confirmed: “Residents are fleeing Beirut’s southern suburbs en masse.” Transport Minister Rasamny confirmed at 17:37 that while Beirut airport remains open and flights are still scheduled, the road leading to the airport is closed due to the mass exodus of residents. This effectively means that reaching the airport is near-impossible for those in the south of the city.
🔴 BREAKING #2 — TONIGHT: 90 ISRAELI JETS READYING BROAD ATTACK ON SOUTH BEIRUT
[Naharnet Live, Israeli Public Broadcasting — TONIGHT, MARCH 5]
At 21:20, Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation reported that ninety Israeli fighter jets will take part in a “broad attack” on Lebanon’s southern suburbs, described as targeting Hezbollah infrastructure. This confirms the full-scale Dahiyeh assault is imminent as of the time of this publication.
At 22:58, the Israeli army announced it had “begun a wave of airstrikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut’s southern suburbs.” By 00:11 on March 6, five Israeli airstrikes had already targeted Beirut’s southern suburbs with additional strikes in the Bekaa.
🔴 BREAKING #3 — HOSPITALS EVACUATED: AL-SAHEL COMPLETE; BAHMAN IN PROGRESS
[Naharnet — 19:40 TODAY]
Hospitals Syndicate head Pierre Yared confirmed at 19:40: “Al-Sahel Hospital has been completely evacuated and Bahman Hospital is currently being evacuated.” Both hospitals served the Dahiyeh area and are within the declared Israeli strike zone. This represents a critical collapse of medical infrastructure in the south Beirut area at precisely the time when casualties are expected to spike dramatically from the incoming broad Beirut attack.
MSF and other humanitarian actors are under extreme pressure. The evacuation of medical facilities while Israeli strikes are imminent creates a catastrophic humanitarian gap.
🔴 BREAKING #4 — DEATH TOLL REACHES 102; 400+ WOUNDED
[Lebanese Health Ministry, Naharnet — 19:23 TODAY]
Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health confirmed the death toll from Israeli strikes has risen to 102 people killed as of 19:23 on March 5 — up from 75 killed yesterday (March 4). Over 400 people have been wounded. Today’s confirmed deaths include:
- Six people in the Nabatieh region: a mayor and his wife killed in one strike; two children and their parents killed in a separate strike near Kfar Tebnit
- Two people killed in an Israeli car strike on a highway near Zahle (Bekaa Valley crossroads)
- Two people killed in an Israeli strike on Beddawi refugee camp, Tripoli (northern Lebanon — Hamas commander targeted)
- Multiple additional casualties in southern suburbs of Beirut and south Lebanon
🔴 BREAKING #5 — CABINET BANS ALL IRGC ACTIVITY IN LEBANON; ORDERS ARRESTS AND DEPORTATION
[Naharnet, Al Jazeera — 14:45 / 15:17 TODAY]
In an extraordinary decision, Lebanon’s Cabinet formally resolved at 14:45 to:
- Arrest any Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) members in Lebanon
- Deport them to Iran
- Take all necessary measures to prevent any military or security activity by IRGC members in Lebanon
PM Nawaf Salam and Information Minister Paul Morcos stated this decision came after Israel’s 24-hour ultimatum (issued March 4) for Iranian officials to leave Lebanon had expired. The Lebanese government rejected Israeli accusations that it was serving Israel’s interests, with Salam stating at the cabinet session that such accusations are “irresponsible” and can “cause strife.”
This is a historic and unprecedented move by a Lebanese government, effectively treating the IRGC — Hezbollah’s primary Iranian sponsor — as an illegal organisation on Lebanese soil.
🔴 BREAKING #6 — HAMAS COMMANDER KILLED IN BEDDAWI CAMP, TRIPOLI — FIRST TRIPOLI STRIKE
[Al Jazeera, Naharnet, Alma Research — TODAY]
An Israeli naval strike killed Wasim Attallah Ali, identified as a Hamas commander responsible for training and exercises in Hamas’s military wing in Lebanon, in the Beddawi Palestinian refugee camp near Tripoli — a city in northern Lebanon far from the traditional conflict zone. Two other people were also killed in the strike.
This is the first confirmed Israeli strike in the greater Tripoli area in this conflict cycle and represents a significant geographic expansion of Israeli targeting into northern Lebanon. Local sources in the camp confirmed to Al Jazeera that the strike appeared to be a targeted assassination.
🔴 BREAKING #7 — MACRON SEEKS CEASEFIRE: CALLS TRUMP, NETANYAHU, AOUN AND BERRI
[Naharnet — 18:33, 20:26 TODAY]
France has launched an urgent diplomatic intervention to halt the Lebanon escalation:
- Macron called Speaker Nabih Berri (17:47) — Berri told Macron that the Dahiyeh evacuation order “poses a real threat to Lebanon” and the two discussed “several proposals”
- President Aoun asked Macron (18:22) to “intervene to prevent the bombing of Beirut’s southern suburbs” and to “work for a ceasefire as soon as possible”
- French Army Chief met with President Aoun, described by Al-Modon news portal as “carrying French ceasefire ideas to Lebanon and Israel”
- At 20:26, Macron confirmed he had spoken with Trump, Netanyahu and Lebanese leaders to “establish a plan to bring an end to the military operations between Hezbollah and Israel”
- Israel Channel 13 reported at 20:36 that Israel is mulling a “broader agreement with Lebanon that ends the current battle”
- Intensive diplomatic contacts between Lebanese officials and influential countries are underway; Lebanon-Israel direct talks may follow (Naharnet Spotlight)
This is the first genuine ceasefire initiative to gain traction since the conflict resumed on March 1.
🔴 BREAKING #8 — ISRAEL ORDERS TROOPS TO “DEEPEN LINE OF CONTROL” IN SOUTH LEBANON
[Naharnet — TODAY]
Israel’s military chief said Thursday he had ordered troops to expand the area under Israeli control in southern Lebanon. The IDF has now entered and is operating in: Kfar Kila, Houla, Kfar Shouba, Yaroun and Khiam — all confirmed by UNIFIL. UNIFIL reported Israeli soldiers have entered several towns and villages in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army’s stated objective is to create a buffer zone and prevent Hezbollah from maintaining firing positions near the border. Defense Minister Katz had stated on March 4 that troops are to “advance and seize additional controlling areas.” The military chief’s March 5 order to “deepen the line of control” confirms this is now a formal strategic objective rather than an ad-hoc response.
Israel has also struck into southern Syria, shelling the Jamla-Saisoun area in Daraa Governorate and arresting four civilians — accusing Syria of deploying combat units to the Syrian Golan Heights.
🔴 BREAKING #9 — WALID JUMBLAT AT DRUZE EMERGENCY MEETING: “NO TO THE WAR OF OTHERS ON OUR LAND”
[Naharnet — 19:17 TODAY]
An extraordinary expanded General Assembly of the Druze Religious Council was convened Thursday at the Druze Community Center in Beirut. Druze leader Walid Jumblat delivered a landmark statement: “No to the war of others on our land, seeing as the people of the South and Dahiyeh and all Lebanese are paying for decisions that came from Iran.”
This statement from one of Lebanon’s most influential leaders reflects a deepening political consensus cutting across sectarian lines against Hezbollah’s decision to enter the war. Jumblat’s framing — “war of others on our land” and “decisions that came from Iran” — echoes President Aoun’s earlier characterisation of Hezbollah’s March 1 launch as “not a defence of Lebanon.”
🔴 BREAKING #10 — ZAHLE HIGHWAY STRUCK: 2 KILLED — WAR REACHES BEKAA CROSSROADS
[Al Jazeera, Naharnet — TODAY]
An Israeli strike on a car on a highway near Zahle in the Bekaa Valley killed two people and injured two more. Zahle is the Bekaa Valley’s largest Christian-majority city and a major commercial crossroads — previously considered a relatively protected urban centre. Its targeting demonstrates ongoing Israeli willingness to strike throughout the Bekaa. Combined with the Beddawi/Tripoli strike and the Dahiyeh mass bombardment, today confirms that no Lebanese governorate can now be considered a safe zone.
🔴 BREAKING #11 — SMOTRICH THREATENS DAHIYEH WILL BECOME “LIKE KHAN YOUNIS”
[Naharnet — 16:37 TODAY]
Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich stated Thursday that Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh will “soon become like Gaza’s Khan Younis” — referencing the total destruction of that Gazan city. While Smotrich does not command the military, his statements reflect the extreme end of the Israeli political spectrum and have historically foreshadowed policy escalation. The Lebanese government formally condemned the statement. Human Rights Watch has called Israeli threats to flatten civilian areas a potential war crime.
🔴 BREAKING #12 — HEZBOLLAH: 91 ATTACKS ON ISRAEL SINCE MARCH 2; TARGETS RAFAEL ARMS FACILITY
[Alma Research, Naharnet — TODAY]
Hezbollah has carried out 91 attack incidents against Israeli territory and IDF forces since entering the war on March 2 — covering rockets, missiles, drones, and anti-tank fire. Today’s confirmed Hezbollah attacks include:
- Targeting Rafael military-industrial facility south of Akka (Acre) — 13:51
- Rocket salvos at Israeli bases in the Galilee Panhandle and Rweissat al-Alam base in Kfarshouba Heights — 10:38
- Armed confrontations with advancing Israeli forces in Dahira (far south Lebanon)
- Attack on Israeli force advancing from Manara military post to Markaba — 15:27
Israeli soldiers have been wounded: one officer seriously wounded by anti-tank fire (17:48); an additional soldier seriously and another moderately wounded in fighting (22:40).
UNIFIL has confirmed 210 rockets fired from Lebanon at Israel since dawn Monday (as of 13:32 today) — underlining the sustained but asymmetric nature of Hezbollah’s counteroffensive.
🔴 BREAKING #13 — US-IRAN WAR DAY 6: 1,230 KILLED IN IRAN; IRAN STRIKES UAE, AZERBAIJAN, QATAR
[Al Jazeera, CBS News, Alma Research — TODAY]
The regional war context continues to directly shape Lebanon’s trajectory:
- Iran death toll: 1,230 since Feb 28 (up from 1,000 yesterday), including 181 children
- 12th wave of strikes on Tehran this morning — approximately 90 Israeli fighter jets dropped 200 munitions on 40 targets
- Nuclear sites struck: Satellite imagery confirms a nuclear weapons development complex in Minzadeh northeast of Tehran was struck on March 3; explosion at Natanz nuclear facility also reported
- Missile base in Kermanshah destroyed; missile launchers in Qom, defense systems in Isfahan, Bandar Abbas port all struck overnight
- UAE: 7 ballistic missiles detected (6 intercepted, 1 hit); 131 drones (125 intercepted, 6 hit); 6 people injured in Abu Dhabi from interceptor debris
- Qatar: Two Iranian Su-24 fighter jets attempted to strike Al-Udeid Air Base — Qatari F-15s shot them both down. First use of Iranian manned aircraft against a US base
- Azerbaijan: First Iranian UAV strikes on Azerbaijani territory — two suicide drones near Nakhchivan school and airport. Azerbaijan “reserves the right to respond”
- Saudi Arabia: 3 Iranian cruise missiles intercepted; UAV attack on Ras Tanura refinery repelled
- Kuwait: Oil tanker hit at port — oil leak reported
- Cyprus: Multiple UAVs launched from Lebanon intercepted by Greek ships
- Turkey: Iranian missile shot down in northern Syria before reaching Turkish territory
- Bahrain: State of emergency declared; port halted
- Iran IRGC vows: “More intense and widespread attacks in coming days”
- Trump on successor: Called Khamenei’s son Mojtaba “a lightweight” and “unacceptable”; stated “I have to be involved in the appointment” — extraordinary claim of US role in choosing Iran’s next leader
- US Senate: Voted on war powers resolution to halt Trump’s Iran attacks (result pending)
- France: Allowed US aircraft on some French Middle East bases (12:20) — but Spain’s PM maintained “No to war” stance
🌡️ GOVERNORATE WARTIME ASSESSMENTS — MARCH 5, 2026
ALL ASSESSMENTS ARE AT MAXIMUM CRISIS LEVEL. No Lebanese governorate is safe. The following reflects relative risk gradations within a nationwide emergency.
🏙️ BEIRUT — 99/100 🔴🔴 | IMMINENT MASS BOMBARDMENT — EVACUATE NOW
Tonight is the most dangerous night Beirut has faced in this conflict cycle. With 90 Israeli jets readying a “broad attack” on the south of the city, the entire Dahiyeh — home to an estimated 400,000 people — is under imminent mass bombardment. Both major hospitals serving the area have already been evacuated.
The diplomatic picture offers a narrow sliver of hope: Macron’s calls to Trump, Netanyahu, Aoun, and Berri (culminating at 20:26 with his confirmation of talks toward “a plan to bring an end to military operations”) could potentially stay the attack if a ceasefire framework emerges. Israeli Channel 13’s report that Israel is “mulling a broader agreement” suggests back-channel movement. But the 90-jet attack preparation continues in parallel with diplomacy.
The road to Beirut airport is currently closed due to the mass civilian exodus from Dahiyeh. Even if flights are operational, reaching the airport tonight is near-impossible for residents of south Beirut.
Ghobeiry and Haret Hreik were struck in overnight attacks preceding today’s main escalation. Israeli forces are operating drones continuously over central Beirut. The fighting has moved from the southern suburbs to the periphery of Beirut proper.
⛔ DAHIYEH, HARET HREIK, BURJ AL-BARAJNEH, HADATH, CHIYAH, SHIYAH: EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY — MASS BOMBARDMENT IMMINENT. If you cannot leave, shelter in the most reinforced interior room available. Away from windows. Do not enter hospitals in the Dahiyeh zone — they have been evacuated.
🏞️ MOUNT LEBANON — 95/100 🔴🔴 | CRITICAL — RECEIVING MASS EXODUS FROM DAHIYEH
Mount Lebanon is absorbing the largest single displacement surge of this conflict: hundreds of thousands fleeing the Dahiyeh evacuation order tonight. Road networks are completely overwhelmed. Aramoun and Saadiyat were struck yesterday; the geographic expansion of Israeli targeting means Mount Lebanon cannot be considered safe.
The overflow of Dahiyeh’s displaced population into Mount Lebanon’s schools, churches, parks and private homes is creating an acute humanitarian emergency on top of the Bekaa and south Lebanon displacement already in progress. Shelter capacity is severely exceeded throughout the governorate.
⛔ EXTREME CAUTION. Complete avoidance of southern approaches to Beirut. Severe road congestion throughout the governorate tonight. Do not attempt to travel toward Dahiyeh or Beirut south for any reason.
🌊 NORTH LEBANON & TRIPOLI — 87/100 🔴 | CRITICAL — FIRST STRIKE ON TRIPOLI AREA TODAY
North Lebanon has been directly struck for the first time in this conflict cycle. The Israeli naval strike killing a Hamas commander in Beddawi camp (Tripoli suburbs) has changed the threat calculus for the entire north. While this appears to have been a targeted assassination rather than an area bombardment, it demonstrates Israeli willingness and ability to strike anywhere in Lebanon including the far north.
Tripoli’s shelters were already overwhelmed before today’s strike. The assassination in Beddawi creates additional community tension and fear of further targeting in the north.
The Syrian border remains effectively closed for Lebanese departures. Any Lebanese seeking to leave overland are trapped within the country’s road network.
⚠️ HIGH CAUTION — NOW ELEVATED. First strike in greater Tripoli confirmed today. Syrian border closed for departures. Shelters overwhelmed. Monitor developments closely.
🌲 AKKAR — 85/100 🔴 | Critical — Drone Corridor; Border Closed; Economic Collapse
No direct strikes in Akkar today. However, the Beddawi/Tripoli strike confirms northern Lebanon is now within Israel’s active targeting geography. Akkar’s Syria border is closed for Lebanese departures.
Multiple UAVs were launched from Lebanese territory toward Cyprus (intercepted by Greek ships) — confirming Lebanese northern territory is being used for drone operations, making Akkar a potential future strike target if launch sites are identified.
Akkar’s economy is in freefall: the regional war has severed supply chains, closed the Syria border, and cut remittances from Lebanese diaspora affected by the Gulf states’ aviation and economic crisis.
⚠️ HIGH CAUTION. North Lebanon now in Israeli strike geography following Beddawi. Syrian border closed. Monitor for drone-launch attribution.
🍇 BEQAA VALLEY — 98/100 🔴🔴 | ACTIVE WAR ZONE — ZAHLE NOW HIT
The Bekaa Valley has reached near-maximum danger today. The strike on a car near Zahle — killing two people on the Zahle highway — represents the first confirmed Israeli targeting of the vicinity of Lebanon’s major Bekaa crossroads city, home to a predominantly Christian population and previously regarded as a relative refuge within the Bekaa.
This is directly significant: Zahle is where many displaced people from the Bekaa and southern regions have been seeking shelter. An Israeli strike in its highway environs sends a message that no Bekaa population centre is untouchable.
Combined with ongoing strikes across Baalbek-Hermel, the chemical contamination of agricultural zones, the closed Syria border, and the destruction of border crossing infrastructure, the Bekaa is a humanitarian catastrophe in progress.
⛔ DO NOT TRAVEL TO THE BEKAA VALLEY. If present, continue efforts to evacuate northward toward Tripoli. The Zahle highway has been struck today.
🕌 BAALBEK-HERMEL — 99/100 🔴🔴 | MAXIMUM DANGER — SUSTAINED BOMBARDMENT
Baalbek-Hermel remains at near-maximum danger. The Alma Research daily report confirms ongoing strikes across the Bekaa including Baalbek-area targets as part of the sustained Israel-Iran supply corridor interdiction campaign. The Hermel corridor to Syria — Hezbollah’s primary strategic rear — continues to receive intensive targeting.
With the IRGC now formally banned from Lebanon and the cabinet ordering their arrest and deportation, the political basis for Iranian personnel in the Bekaa is legally dissolved — though enforcement in Hezbollah’s heartland remains essentially impossible under current conditions.
⛔ EVACUATE. Maximum danger. No safe zones identifiable. Move north.
🏛️ KESERWAN-JBEIL — 83/100 🔴 | Critical — Airport Road Closed; Departure Window Closing
Keserwan-Jbeil has not been directly targeted today but faces a rapidly deteriorating situation driven by the Dahiyeh mass exodus. Transport Minister Rasamny confirmed at 17:37 that Beirut airport remains open and flights are scheduled — but the road leading to the airport is closed due to the mass civilian movement from Dahiyeh and south Beirut.
This is critical: the departure window from Lebanon is closing in real time tonight. If the 90-jet broad Beirut attack proceeds as prepared, the airport’s operational status — and the road to reach it — may change dramatically within hours.
The US Embassy resumed limited emergency passport services by email (BeirutACS@state.gov) for Americans with lost, stolen or expired passports — a partial reopening that at least creates an emergency pathway for US citizens.
⚠️ CRITICAL CAUTION. Airport open but road closed — departure tonight is near-impossible from south Beirut. Anyone who can reach the airport from the north should attempt departure NOW before tonight’s broad attack. Monitor airport status hourly.
🌴 SOUTH LEBANON — 100/100 🔴🔴 | ACTIVE GROUND WAR — DO NOT ENTER**
South Lebanon remains a full active ground war zone. All residents south of the Litani have been ordered to evacuate — that order has been continuously renewed throughout Thursday. Total displacement from the south now exceeds 300,000 according to Israeli military figures.
Israeli ground forces are now entrenched in Kfar Kila, Houla, Kfar Shouba, Yaroun and Khiam — confirmed by UNIFIL. The military chief’s order Thursday to “deepen the line of control” foreshadows further territorial advance.
Six people were killed in Nabatieh villages today: a mayor and his wife, and a family of four including two children. Strikes continued in the al-Shahabiya district of Tyre. Israeli tanks and infantry are conducting operations in Dahira (far south).
Hezbollah’s guerrilla resistance continues: fighters have engaged Israeli forces advancing toward Markaba, and carried out anti-tank strikes wounding Israeli soldiers.
⛔ DO NOT ENTER SOUTH LEBANON. If present, evacuate north immediately. There is no protection available. The Lebanese Army has withdrawn.
⛪ NABATIEH — 100/100 🔴🔴 | ACTIVE GROUND WAR — DO NOT ENTER
Nabatieh has suffered confirmed civilian atrocities today: a mayor and his wife killed; two children and their parents killed in a separate strike. All districts of Nabatieh remain under total evacuation orders. Israeli ground forces are operating in multiple towns throughout the governorate.
Hezbollah continues to conduct armed resistance in Nabatieh — targeting Israeli forces with anti-tank weapons, rockets, and explosives. This ongoing resistance inside civilian areas continues to generate Israeli counter-strikes, ensuring no area of Nabatieh is safe for civilian presence.
⛔ DO NOT ENTER NABATIEH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

📱 WARTIME EMERGENCY GUIDANCE — MARCH 5, 2026
🚨 MOST URGENT ACTIONS — TONIGHT, MARCH 5:
1. DAHIYEH AND SOUTH BEIRUT — LEAVE RIGHT NOW A broad 90-jet Israeli attack on the Dahiyeh is being prepared as of tonight. Both hospitals have been evacuated. This is not a drill. If you are in Burj al-Barajneh, Haret Hreik, Hadath, Chiyah, Shiyah, or any part of the Dahiyeh — leave now. Move north, to central Beirut first, and then continue northward if possible.
2. BEIRUT AIRPORT — ASSESS CAREFULLY The airport is open and flights are scheduled. However, the road from south Beirut is closed due to the mass exodus. If you are north of Beirut and can reach the airport, attempt departure NOW before tonight’s strikes potentially close access. If you cannot reach the airport tonight, have a shelter-in-place plan ready for the next 12 hours.
3. IF YOU CANNOT EVACUATE FROM SOUTH BEIRUT TONIGHT:
- Identify the most structurally reinforced room in your building — interior, lowest floor, away from all windows and external walls
- Do not shelter in hospitals in the Dahiyeh zone — they have been evacuated
- Keep mobile device fully charged
- Stay away from all windows during strike activity
- The Hezbollah-enforced press ban in Dahiyeh means you will not receive timely warning — rely on Israeli military Arabic-language X posts and Civil Defense alerts
4. SOUTH LEBANON, NABATIEH, BEKAA, BAALBEK-HERMEL: If you are still in these areas, evacuate immediately. These are active war zones. The Lebanese Army cannot protect you. UNIFIL is in bunkers. There is no safe zone.
5. NORTHERN LEBANON: North Lebanon is no longer automatically safe. The Beddawi/Tripoli strike today demonstrated Israeli reach across the entire country. However, the north remains the least-dangerous part of Lebanon and the appropriate destination for those evacuating from all other governorates.
6. CEASEFIRE MONITORING: The French ceasefire initiative is the most serious diplomatic development since the war began. Macron has spoken with all parties. Israeli Channel 13 reports Israel is “mulling a broader agreement.” Monitor closely — if a ceasefire is announced, situation guidance will change dramatically. CIS Security will issue an immediate update.
SHELTER-IN-PLACE PROTOCOL (FOR IMMINENT STRIKE CONDITIONS):
- Interior room, lowest floor or basement, maximum distance from windows and external walls
- Phone fully charged; portable charger available
- 72-hour water supply (3 litres per person per day minimum), food, medications
- Identify neighbours who may need assistance — elderly, disabled, children
- Do not use elevators
- Have pre-identified meeting point for family members if you become separated
🏢 FOR BUSINESSES AND ORGANISATIONS:
- ALL Dahiyeh and south Beirut operations: EMERGENCY CLOSURE. 400,000 people evacuating. No staff to remain.
- Tripoli and north Lebanon: Review security posture following today’s Beddawi strike. North is no longer categorically safe.
- Zahle and Bekaa operations: The Zahle highway strike today places all Bekaa commercial operations at direct risk. Suspend non-essential operations.
- Airport logistics: The road closure means air cargo and passenger operations are effectively suspended tonight. Re-evaluate logistics plans for the coming 24-72 hours.
- Financial systems: Banking operations severely disrupted across Lebanon. Ensure adequate cash liquidity.
- Insurance: War exclusion clauses are fully active. Document all damages immediately for future claims.
- Staff accounting: Account for all staff across all governorates immediately. Anyone unaccounted for in south Beirut or the Dahiyeh zone should be treated as priority welfare cases.

⚠️ CRITICAL FINAL NOTICE — MARCH 5, 2026 — 20:00 LEBANON TIME
TONIGHT IS THE MOST DANGEROUS NIGHT IN BEIRUT SINCE 2006.
Ninety Israeli fighter jets are preparing a broad attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs as this report is published. Four hundred thousand people have been ordered to evacuate. Two hospitals have been evacuated. The road to the airport is closed.
The only countervailing force is active French ceasefire diplomacy — with Macron having spoken with Trump, Netanyahu, Aoun and Berri within the last two hours, and Israeli media reporting Israel is “mulling a broader agreement.”
CIS Security’s assessment: The next 4-6 hours are the most critical of this conflict. Either diplomacy produces a halt to tonight’s prepared broad attack — or Beirut’s southern suburbs face destruction on a scale not seen since the 2006 war.
If you are in Dahiyeh: Leave now. Do not wait for further updates.
If you are anywhere else in Lebanon: Shelter in place. Have your emergency plan ready. Monitor developments.
CIS Security will issue an emergency update as soon as the situation clarifies — either a ceasefire announcement or confirmation that the broad attack has proceeded.
