BUT THE KILLING DID NOT STOP: ONE MAN KILLED IN ZEBDINE DRONE STRIKE WEDNESDAY

Lebanon's National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle in Zebdine, in the Nabatieh region, on Wednesday, killing the rider. Arab News reported that Israeli strikes in the area have killed at least 29 people since Friday, including 12 members of one family, since Israel announced its capture of the Ali al-Taher ridge. UN Secretary-General Guterres, on Tuesday, said he was "particularly alarmed by reported Israeli strikes affecting hospitals, healthcare workers and public institutions, as well as restrictions on humanitarian access."

CIS assessment: A single killing on an otherwise calmer day is precisely the pattern CIS would expect during a genuine but partial de-escalation — sufficient to lower the trend line from Monday's acute crisis, insufficient to describe the underlying conflict as paused. CIS notes that Hezbollah, per multiple outlets including Naharnet and the Japan Times, has not claimed any attack for weeks and has not commented on either Israel's capture claim over Ali al-Taher or the broader escalation in strikes — a silence that has now persisted through an entire week of sharply rising casualties.

KFAR RUMMAN BURIES ITS DEAD: THE FARHAT FAMILY TOLL DISPUTED BETWEEN 12 AND 13

Hundreds gathered in Kfar Rumman on Tuesday to mourn the dead from Monday's strike, which leveled the Farhat family home.
